I haven't dyed my hair in over a year and the crown area is beginning to look like someone dropped pieces of Christmas tinsel on it. Occasionally dudes are bold enough to point them out to me! Like I don't know that they're there... This is my current natural hair color.

It's not awful, just needs a little more umphhh. When I was younger, it was more of a dusty brown but now it's settled into a darker brown. For years I dyed it jet black, then it started to break so I stopped. When I became natural, I experimented with henna and indigo, but henna tends to relax my wavy crown area too much. I've almost grown out all of the straight pieces from my last henna application and think I'm ready to hit the bottle again. Everyone has their hair color preferences. I prefer darker/cooler hair colors in the fall/winter and lighter/warmer hair colors in the summer. I was waffling for a minute about dying my hair black when I saw this picture and realized that I really miss having black hair


That was all the motivation I needed! I'll probably start off with a cellophane first and see how I feel about it. Hopefully I have a new hair color and length to show off for my October hair update.
