Condo Tour

Living Room
I finally got a memory card for my new digital camera and took a few "before" pictures of the sections in my condo I would like to decorate/style right now. This was the quickest photo shoot known to man, so please excuse any darkness in the photos. I barely learned how to use the camera yesterday!. I tried to get a closeup of every pertinent angle, but let me know if I missed something.

The batcave is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, third floor condo. Checkout this post to see what it looked like when I moved in. The hallway you see in the picture takes you past the two smaller bedrooms, but what you don't see is that it then curves around to another hallway leading to the master bedroom and bath. The third anniversary of my condo purchase just passed on the 14th and it's pretty sad that I don't have more rooms completed. Recently a friend suggested that I submit my condo for the Apartment Therapy Home Tour, but I don't think the batcave is ready in it's current state. If I feel that the finished product is worthy of primetime, I just might submit it next year. For now this is just a personal project that I hope to have finished in time to host a party on my birthday in April.

When I look at these pictures I think of all the things I want to do. In addition to adding more furniture, I plan to repaint the walls (a griege color) and get the hardwood floors refinished. The current gray color you see on most of the walls has a slight blue tint to it. I wanted more of a warm gray, and that blue tint has been driving me crazy since I got it done in February of 2009. Also, although I love the look of ebony floors, this go-round I'll just get the them sanded down and apply a new coat of finish. The hardwood floors have a nice sheen already, but I remember how shiny they looked when I first moved in and I'd like that back again. I definitely have an insatiable urge to put a darker stain on the kitchen cabinets, but we shall see how that pans out. My next step will be to be come up with a floor plan, and once that's done, I'll post it. After that the easy projects will be adding a few more accessories in the kitchen and finding a nice round table for the dining room. Finally tackling the living room area will be my biggest project, but I'll break that down into sections.
