Summer Shopping Items

by - June 12, 2010

I still have a few things I need before the summer gets into full swing and today I went on a hunt. Item number one is a bikini. Shopping for one is always tricky because I need a D cup top and a lot of the lines only have sizes that range from S-L. For some reason the large tops don't often do the trick. I also need one that has an adjustable back because my back is narrow like a size small. Both pieces were about $36 a piece. Yes, I know you can get bikinis cheaper at Targ.et, but the ones at Ta.rget rarely fit me this well or offer any support. I didn't buy it, but I may go back later and get it. There was a coral suit that was the perfect color, but the top wasn't very flattering. I may try and see if any other stores have this suit in that coral color.

Next up was this blue maxi-dress. I have a hard time finding a maxi-dress that doesn't have me swimming in fabric. In fact I only own one, which is a sad thing because they are very cute. My main issue with maxi-dresses is that they often disguise the waistline that I prefer to emphasize. I like this one, but it's a medium and when I tried the small on last week, I felt like it fit my body better. I need to find a store that has the small, so I can take a picture to compare. Also, this dress is VERY long, so I'll have to get it hemmed before I can wear it. That kinda annoyed me. But it's my favorite color of blue and the material is light and drapes perfectly.

After a bunch of shopping, I finally ended up getting this dress. I wasn't even going to try it on! And then when I did, I really wanted it in white, but they only had an XS in white. I have been buying a lot of gray lately, so I wasn't too mad about the color. I plan to wear this at one of the parties when I attend the N.ational Ur.ban Lea.gue conference at the end of July. For now I think I may just play it safe and rock it with black heels. The dress has a lot of cute details that you don't really want to have your accessories distracting from the dress or the body.

The only other thing I really need is a new pair of gladiator or strappy sandals. The ones I have are starting to look like I've been walking around in the wilderness a tad too long. After that, I can sit down somewhere and be quiet!

If you have been under a rock, the summer sales are in full swing, so make sure you get on it before the good stuff is gone.
