Today is my birthday so I figured I'd post some hair updates from the past year. The first two updates are from when I got my hair straightened  for New Year's Eve. The first picture was taken at the salon when I had curls in my hair. I hate "curled" hair on me, so I combed them out and took the second picture.

This month I asked my stylist to clean up my shape a little bit so we cut a tad bit more off. The layers were getting slightly out of control. Most of hair is dyed black at the moment, but my roots are lighter because my natural hair color is a medium brown color. When I went back to work with straight hair this month, my male co-workers loved my "new" look. They never say anything about my twist-outs, but I got tons of compliments on the flat-ironed hair. Ironically, my female co-workers prefer my twist-outs.

In terms of length, I've had some setbacks this year, so I'm not where I'd like to be. I keep playing around with protein treatments and my hair hates them, so I plan to stop. I also noticed that this new comb I started using was causing some breakage. It detangled like a dream, but I'm going back to my trusty Jilbere shower comb. Right now I plan to hover around this length until most of my hair reaches APL land.
